VOILES

de St. Barth

The luxury watchmaker Richard Mille is the primary sponsor to bring this well

known and loved regatta to the shores of St Barths. The Voiles de St Barth regatta

was originally contested in beautiful St Tropez for many years before its

introduction to St Barths in mid-April 2010. Having grown in popularity over the

years this regatta is now one of the premier events on the St Barth’s yachting

calendar with an average of 75 entrants per year.

The main difference between the Voiles de St Barth and the Bucket Regatta is the

size of the boats. The Bucket stipulates vessels must be a minimum of 100ft in

length to enter, whereas this regatta allows entrants to be anywhere from 30ft to

120ft, single or multi-hull.

This is very much an ‘everymans’ regatta, whether you have a 40ft live-in or a 100ft

racing catamaran you can enter. The flexibility of the entry rules allows for

recreational sailors to compete in a world class regatta alongside the worlds best.

The event is held over four long days of grueling racing around St Barths and the

surrounding islands. Each evening there are well known local and international live

musical acts playing on the stage in front of the Captenerie, providing a fun positive

Caribbean atmosphere.
